WIN IN WHITE – How to ace this season’s white-on-white look
As summer’s temperatures rise, the struggle to dress well and keep cool is a daily style challenge. Our advice? Make a choice that is crisp and confident with an all-white look – it’s the kind of monochrome magic that’s sure to turn heads.
A CLEAN SLATE
Pulling off all-white look is a lot easier than it sounds. There are the obvious don’ts – like never wear white to a wedding and if you’re spending time in the (messy) outdoors – you may want to reconsider – but other than that, there’s no reason to fear this trend.
- DO: STAY FREE SPIRITED
Boho detailing works well in this monochromatic palette. Look out for lace or other textures and embellishments, which will keep your look from falling flat. Wooden and jewel-toned accessories can add colour and texture.
- DO: THINK ABOUT ACCESSORIES
You’ve got two choices: pick accessories that will stand out against the blank canvas that is your outfit or you can stick to your “all-white” guns (by adding a white, tote bag perhaps). Either way, pay close attention to your shoes: dark, clunky options sometimes clash so stick to footwear in a neutral palette.
- DO: KEEP IT CASUAL
If you go too formal you are going to end up playing in the bridal space. Sometimes all you need is a simple vest paired with a classic pair of white denims. It’s a timeless and effortless take on the trend.
- DO: SHOW SOME SKIN
One of the best advantages of the colour is that it highlights a beautiful, bronzed skin and can even make your tan look one shade darker. Keep it classy in an off-the-shoulder top to bring your beach glow to your everyday style.
- DO: LET LOOSE!
Amp up your outfit with a loose silhouette on top. Keep the proportions on track with a fitted pair of pants. And above all: let go and don’t forget to have fun with it!
